YEREVAN. - President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan on Tuesday received the EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the Crisis in Georgia, Herbert Salber.

Sargsyan expressed his view on the reasons behind escalating the situation and hindering the talks, resulting from Azerbaijan’s deconstructive and bellicose position.

Referring to the facts of war crimes committed by the Azerbaijani armed forces during the April events, the President stressed the necessity of the adequate response of international community and specialist institutions to these unacceptable and condemnable phenomena.

The meeting also addressed the necessity of introducing incident investigation mechanisms and implementing confidence-building measures.  

Apart from this, the sides stressed that the peaceful settlement of the conflict has no alternative.
