The chairman of the Catalonian Parliament Carme Forkadel received the first draft of independent Catalonia’s constitution, writes Gazeta with a reference to La Vanguardia. The public organization Constituïm prepared the draft involving everyone who made suggestions to the development of the document.

According to him , Catalonia will receive a status of a presidential republic with a unicameral parliament. Presidential and parliamentary elections will be held every five years. The head of the Constitutional Court shall be elected by a direct vote. According to the proposal , Catalan, Aran , and Castilian (Spanish) will receive a special legal status .
