YEREVAN. - The international assessments regarding the parliamentary elections of 2017 will be unprecedentedly high, Chief of Armenian Government Staff – Minister Davit Harutyunyan stated in the parliament Monday, summing up the discussions on the draft Electoral Code of Armenia which took place during its second reading.

The Government attentively listened to all the parties concerned and itself carried out great work in including in the final version of the Electoral Code such mechanisms, which will firstly not allow to deride the elections much as one would like to, and secondly prevent zealous do-gooders wishing to please the authorities from spoiling the elections.

The authorities strive to a consensus with the opposition and will do their best to achieve this. But even if this doesn’t take place, the Government will introduce a Code, which will ensure very high-level elections with unprecedentedly high assessments, despite what assessments are given by the politicians in the parliament.
