YEREVAN. – The Government of Armenia approved, at Thursday’s Cabinet session, the cost plan of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) project aimed at protection of children in Armenia 

Within the framework of this project, the USAID and the Armenian government will spend $825 thousand and $82,500, respectively, from 2016 to 2019.

This project envisions to stop the flow of children in Armenia to special schools and boarding school, and to keep them in—or return them to—their families.

It is also planned to open at least five pedagogical and psychological support centers within three years.

Furthermore, one hundred schools in Armenia will be accommodated for children with special needs.
