Eruption of the volcano Sinabung, located in Indonesia's North Sumatra, occurred on Monday, Xinhua reported.

According to the National Institute of volcanology, the mount erupted spewing a column of ashes.

The 2,460-meter-high volcano located near the capital of North Sumatra province Medan, again woke up on September 15, 2013 after a three-year break, forcing more than 15,000 people leave their homes. In early 2014 the next eruption killed 16 people. In May of this year, pyroclastic streams led to death of seven people.
