Edward Nalbandian, Foreign Minister of Armenia, on Tuesday met with Lê Lương Minh, Secretary General of the Association for Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), in the Indonesian capital city of Jakarta.

The interlocutors touched upon the avenues for developing Armenia’s cooperation with ASEAN and its member countries.

Secretary General Minh presented the integration processes within ASEAN, the ongoing projects, and outcomes of deepening of economic collaboration ever since its establishment, and the new opportunities established for ASEAN member countries, and its prospects.

The agenda of the meeting focused on the chances of cooperation between the Eurasian Economic Union and the Association for Southeast Asian Nations. In this regard, Lê Lương Minh stressed that the ASEAN is interested in such cooperation and certain respective steps are undertaken by its member countries and the Association itself. Edward Nalbandian, for his part, expressed the support of Armenia to these efforts.
