YEREVAN. – Azerbaijan’s purchase of arms from Pakistan is realistic, but it raises questions, military analyst Arkadi Grigoryan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Commenting on Azerbaijani media reports, Grigoryan noted that such information fraud is nothing new.

“The Azerbaijani side will continue presenting the events to its benefit,” noted the analyst. “But in reality, one can’t rule out [the possibility of] Azerbaijan’s purchase of weapons from Pakistan.”

In his words, this matter refers to Azerbaijan’s attempt to obtain ballistic missiles.

“The presence of such missiles in Azerbaijan should be of concern to the other regional players—Russia, Iran, and Georgia, since the missiles can be used against them,” added Arkadi Grigoryan. “This should be of concern [especially] to Georgia, since [Azerbaijan’s] Pakistani-production missiles, [despite] being directed toward [Armenia’s capital city of] Yerevan, could fall on [Georgia’s capital city of] Tbilisi.”
