Amnesty International has accused Italian authorities of torturing refugees, reports Lenta. The Italian police had beaten a group of refugees, subjected them to electric shock, sexual humiliation, and “torture to coerce them to give their fingerprints,” reads the report.

A 25-year old woman from Eritrea told the watchdog that a police officer punched her in her face until she has gone through fingerprinting. Several people reported that the police hit them with rubber batons and electric shocks. A 16-year-old boy from Darfur tells that received electricity on his belly, chest, and legs. Another migrant told that he was beaten and electrically shocked on his genitals. The report says, that, meanwhile, the behavior of most police remains professional, the results of the study raise serious concerns.
