YEREVAN. – Russia is doing everything in its power to achieve progress in the Nagorno-Karabakh [(Artsakh)] peace process.
Chairperson of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the Federation Council of Russia, Konstantin Kosachev, on Saturday told the above-said to reporters in Armenia’s capital city of Yerevan.
When asked by Armenian News-NEWS.am as to whether he expects a positive change in the forthcoming talk between the FMs of Armenia and Azerbaijan, in Hamburg, Germany, Kosachev noted that any such meeting gives hope that a positive change will take place.
“We hope for progress,” the Russian MP stated. “We realize that the events in [early] April [i.e. when Azerbaijan had unleashed a military aggression against Artsakh] in a sense ‘froze’ this [peace] process. But, it seems to us that emotions have calmed down now, to return to the negotiation process.”
