YEREVAN. – According to the sources of Hraparak newspaper, President of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan, was quite surprised by the demeanor of a part of the administrative resource, in the days of an armed group’s take over of a police station in capital city of Yerevan in the summer, and which had put its head into the ground like a mole, and waited for what will the solution be, wrote the newspaper.

“He [i.e. Sargsyan], they say, was bewildered by the society’s positive attitude toward the armed group, and hatred toward the authorities.

“It was after this that the decision had ‘ripened’ toward making large-scale changes in both the executive [branch of power] and the party [i.e. the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA)].

“By the way, the process of ‘cleaning up and refurbishing’ the RPA is put also on ‘new strategists,’ which need to ‘see to it that the mentality that the RPA is invincible ceases to dominate among the society,’” wrote Hraparak.
