YEREVAN. – Armenia is the only country where Yezidis firmly cling to their traditions, president of the Association of Young Yezidis, Said Avdalyan, said at a press conference on Wednesday.

In his words, the new Yezidi generation in other countries is apathetic toward its traditions, and it does not follow its rituals.

Also, Avdalyan noted that the French Senate’s recognition of the genocide of the Yezidis in Syria and in Iraq is of great importance for their nation. He noted that he would like for the French government to also follow the lead of the senate.

“But I fear that these resolutions will remain on paper, and give no substantial result,” added Said Avdalyan.
