YEREVAN. – Armenia will face several challenges in 2017 and one of them is the issue of Syrian refugees, MP from Heritage party Tevan Poghosyan told reporters.

The MP believes Yerevan has to work out political mechanisms for assistance to the Syrian Armenians.

“We have to create conditions for the Syrian Armenians so that they could stay in Armenia instead of considering it as a temporary shelter to move to third state,” he said.

He explained that another problem is new policy of the United States towards Iran.

“If U.S. President-elect Doland Trump keeps his promise to break up the agreement with Iran, this will affect the entire region,” he added.

The third challenge, of course, is parliamentary vote, Poghosyan said, urging to conduct open and fair vote, so that no one could have doubts on the result.
