Japanese authorities decided to ease visa regime for Russians, RIA Novosti reported quoting Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

In accordance with the decision the list of people who will be able to receive multi-visas for short-term stay in Japan will be expanded. It will include businessmen, scientists and cultural figures. The validity of these visas will be extended from three to five years.

The official statement said that the mentioned weakening of visa requirements, as expected, will promote further exchanges between people with Russia, and will make it more convinient for tourists and businessmen.

 As to short-term visas Russians will not need to bring letter from the guarantor when the traveling is at their own expense.
