At least 20 people, including four children, were killed after two vessels collided in Pathein, southwestern Myanmar's Ayeyawaddy region Friday night, Xinhua reported.
With about 60 passengers aboard, a passenger vessel sank after it collided with another ship loaded with stones near Pathein Taman Creek at 8 p.m. local time. A total of 40 passengers were rescued after the accident.
The accident was initially reported to have been caused by failure of a lighthouse.
