Dublin is ready, together with London, to work out wording in the text of proposals on the border with Ulster. This was stated by the head of the Irish Foreign Ministry Simon Coveney, TASS reported citing the BBC radio.
Coveney stated that they are ready to agree on a text that would clearly indicate decisions on how to avoid the return of the border on the island of Ireland.
To move to the second stage of Brexit negotiations, London and Brussels must find a consensus on the border issue before the EU summit begins. The summit is scheduled for December 14-15, it will decide whether conditions have been created to start discussions on future trade relations. Dublin, with the support of the European Union, is seeking clear guarantees from London that on the island of Ireland the border between north and south will remain transparent after the UK's withdrawal from the EU.
