Germany supports the US demand to increase pressure on Pyongyang, said German Foreign Ministry Spokesman Rainer Breul, RIA Novosti reported.

"The Americans demand to increase pressure on North Korea that should return to the negotiating table. Germany supports this demand, "said Breul, adding that Berlin is also intended to coordinate its activities with European partners on this issue.

He denied the information according to which Washington demanded that Berlin should recall the ambassador from Pyongyang.

Earlier, Foreign Minister Sigmar Gabriel said that Germany was reducing diplomatic contacts with North Korea.  North Korea will also reduce its diplomatic presence in Germany.
