President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimukhammedov assured at the meeting with energy sector officers that the country keeps on diversifying natural gas export to the world market.

Turkmenistan has enough gas recourses to join such a major and attractive gas pipeline as Nabucco, Berdimukhammedov outlined.

Thus, Turkmenistan followed Azerbaijan lead that on the one hand reached agreements with Russia as a gas supplier, meanwhile not excluding the participation in Nabucco, that is perceived by Russia as a competitor to “South Stream” Project.
