Presidential elections are held in Azerbaijan on Wednesday.

Eight candidates, including incumbent President Ilham Aliyev, are running for this office.

A total of 894 international and 58,175 local observers were accredited to follow the election.

Sixty organizations as well as international observation missions from 59 countries will monitor this voting.

Even though this presidential election was slated for fall, Aliyev had decided to hold snap elections on April 11.
