The daily held an interview with secretary of Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) Eduard Sharmazanov.

Commenting on the question whether the extra-parliamentary forces will unite with Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP), the MP said Prosperous Armenia is a coalition ally with RPA.

“There is nothing strange in the activities of Prosperous Armenia, as small parties have no way to implement their political goals. The consolidation of political forces in Armenia is only welcomed, if it has ideological basis. Each political structure has a right to draw its own political course,” he said.

According to him, the unification process will be intensified in the pre-election year. “I think political passions will run high in the second half of the year. Outbreaks are also possible, as the political forces will try to apply various tactical and strategic methods to get maximum results from the elections,” Sharmazanov noted.
