RA Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandyan received Sept. 23 Swiss Ambassador to Armenia Lorenzo Amberg on the occasion of opening of the Switzerland Embassy H.Q. in Armenia.

Having welcomed the quest, Nalbandyan said establishment of the Embassy would give a serious stimulus to development Armenia-Switzerland relations. He was glad that agreements made during Swiss Foreign Minister Micheline Calmy-Rey’s visit to Yerevan in 2008 on establishment of Swiss diplomatic mission in Armenia were realized. H pointed out that opening of the Embassy headquarters is the first step in this direction, RA Foreign Ministry press service told NEWS.am.

Nalbandyan emphasized that appointment of Charles Aznavour – the renowned Armenian art worker, demonstrates how important for Armenia development of relations with Switzerland is.

In his turn, Ambassador Amberg presented Konstantin Obolensky as Charge d’Affairs of Swiss Embassy in Armenia and assured he will make efforts to foster comprehensive bilateral relations between the countries.

Later in the day, a reception took place on the occasion. Nalbandyan attended the event.
