The Kazakh Defense Ministry helicopter crashed in the Kyzylorda region,Tengrinews.kz reported quoting the press service of the ministry.

According to preliminary data,  some people are believed to have been killed in the crash. So far, the number of victims is unknown.

The helicopter was part of a group of four military helicopters, flying from Aktau to Shymkent.

A special commission has been formed and sent to the crash site by Kazakhstan’s Defense Minister Nurlan Yermekbayev.

"Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Defense and Ministry of Interior have started the investigation of the causes and circumstances of the aircraft crash," the press service stated.
