UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson said people convicted for terrorism should be denied early release from jail, Reuters reported.

British PM’s statement comes after shocking stabbing on London Bridge that claimed the lives of two people.

 “I think that the practice of automatic, early release where you cut a sentence in half and let really serious, violent offenders out early simply isn’t working, and you’ve some very good evidence of how that isn’t working, I am afraid, with this case,” Johnson said on Saturday.

Usman Khan, 28, attacked passers-by on London Bridge on Friday afternoon. He was shot dead by police.

Khan was previously convicted for a terror offence, but was released in 2018.
