RA Government approved draft bill on legal regime of the state of emergency at today’s session. It regulates the procedure on announcement of the state of emergency in Armenia, defines content of President’s decree on proclamation of the state of emergency, as well as determines duration, Governmental press service informed NEWS.am.

The document will be submitted to ratification in the RA National Assembly.

March 1, 2008 Robert Kocharyan imposed state of emergency without a corresponding law, that gave a handle to lawyers’ doubt in legitimacy of the decree.
