Kabul is not against the participation of the Taliban in the elections - this will be a test of people's confidence in them, Afghan FM Mohammad Hanif Atmar said on Tuesday.

According to him, they accept the rights of the Taliban as citizens of Afghanistan. 

"If they think about the Afghan people, if they are convinced that they are fighting for the Afghan people and that they have their trust, then please let them participate in the elections and see if the Afghans want to accept the Taliban views or not. The elections will become a criterion of the Afghan people's trust in us or the Taliban," he told Sputnik Afghanistan.
