Denmark announced a two-week suspension of COVID-19 vaccination using AstraZeneca's drug amid reports of blood clots in some of the vaccinated people. A similar decision was made during the day by the authorities of Norway, Iceland, and Italy.

The Danish health department reported one death. According to the department, they are obliged to respond to reports of possible serious side effects that come both from Denmark and from other European countries.

The decision to temporarily suspend the vaccination of AstraZeneca was announced in Norway and Iceland following Denmark.

According to the European Medicines Agency (EMA), during the use of the AstraZeneca vaccine in the European Union, Norway, and Iceland, only 22 cases of thrombosis were reported among more than three million people who received this vaccine.

Italy has also announced a ban on the use of one of the batches of this vaccine.
