A Taiwanese air force training aircraft crashed during a training flight, the pilot died, the press service of the administration of the head of the island said on Tuesday.

According to a message on the official Facebook page of the press service of the administration of the head of Taiwan, an AIDC AT-3 aircraft that took off from the Gangshan Air Force Base in Kaohsiung City, located in the southwest of the island, crashed.

“Despite the fact that the search and rescue team promptly began rescue work, unfortunately, the pilot of the aircraft was found dead,” the report says.

The head of Taiwan instructed the Ministry of Defense to find out the cause of the incident and support the family of the deceased pilot.
