The Spanish Interior Ministry wants to send an additional 500 law enforcement officers to airports in the kingdom to avoid queues at passport control, the newspaper La Vanguardia reported.

According to its information, the reinforcement will be activated after 20 June at the key air harbors in the kingdom. More than half of the 500 guards will be sent to the international airports of Madrid and Barcelona.

Earlier, the Spanish airline Iberia said that since the beginning of March, about 15 thousand people were late for their flights because of the messy situation with the control at Madrid airport.

In turn, as reported by the agency EFE, the Spanish Interior Ministry denied assessments of the airline. The agency said that in recent months, the national police have not registered a single complaint due to flight loss.
