Britain is facing a long crisis in the energy sector, said British Foreign Minister, candidate for prime minister of the kingdom Liz Truss, writes The Times. According to her, this is a long-term problem for the country, the solution of which will take several years.

If people think that the problem will be solved within six months, then they are wrong. This is a long-term problem, Truss explained.

As the head of the British Foreign Office noted, the kingdom needs to strive to accelerate its transition to 'green' energy, including through the construction of nuclear power plants. However, Truss did not rule out that London would have to return to the development of oil and gas fields in the North Sea due to the rejection of Russian energy resources.

At the same time, the minister separately emphasized that she has a plan that will improve the UK economy against the background of the crisis. In her opinion, one of the possible solutions in this situation will be to reduce taxes and create more comfortable conditions for business.
