The death toll in the explosion in a mine in Bartin, Turkey, has reached 14, said Suleyman Soylu, the Minister of the Interior.
Earlier, the minister of health had informed that two people had died and 20 others were injured.
The mine workers are still under the rubble, reported CNN Turk.
And A Haber television, citing the local authorities, reported that there were 115 people at the explosion site at a depth of 300 meters, and some of them were evacuated.
According to Bartin provincial governor Nurtac Arslan, 49 people were trapped in the mine after the explosion.
Turkish ministers of the interior and energy, Suleyman Soylu and Fatih Donmez, traveled to the scene.
