Turkish Premier Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated that Turkey intends to expand relations with Iran, Tehran Times daily reports.

According to the daily, in the course of his meeting with Turkish Premier, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad underlined that “unity is the best way to turn threats into opportunities.”

Ahmadinejad emphasized that bilateral relations “are not only in the interests of the two nations, but also (in the interests of) the region and the world.”

Iranian President pointed out the necessity “to maintain unity” among regional states.

“The Zionist regime is a threat to all nations… it cannot tolerate the existence of any strong country in the region,” the President said, commenting on Turkey’s position on Israel.

At the moment, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan is on an official visit to Tehran.
