German Defense Minister Karl-Theodor zu Guttenberg stated that Germany intends to increase its troops in Afghanistan. According to him, soldiers will be deployed in Kunduz (north Afghanistan) in January 2010, Irish breakingnews.ie website reports.
This Thursday Defense Minister arrived on his first visit to Afghanistan, where he met with President Karzai as well as other Afghan and NATO officials.
According to the source, there are already 4,365 German servicemen in Afghanistan.
