The U.K. Government will introduce the final legislative program Nov. 18 eve-of-poll in 2010. The document will emphasize the importance to assign more power to the Government “to intervene in badly performing schools and to rip up bankers' contracts if they lead to excessive pay,” The Wall Street Journal informs Nov. 16.

According to the source Mr. Brown will try to show that his government will assign more money to public services – particularly to the health sector. Whereas, the opposition Conservative Party prioritizes “belt tightening” in order to be able to tackle the national debt.

It is expected that Mr. Brown’s proposals will raise many questions as inter alia the public is concerned where the PM will get the sufficient money from?

Besides, “the proposals for the Financial Services Authority to tear up bankers' contracts likely will face resistance from British banks, arguing that such measures create an unfair advantage for foreign competitors,” the WSJ concludes.
