U.S. President Barack Obama said Nov. 17 the U.S. Government “recognizes Tibet as a part of China,” Vesti TV informs Nov. 18.

Obama also declared, that “the U.S. supported the early resumption of dialogue between the Chinese government and representatives of the Dalai Lama to resolve any concerns and differences that the two sides may have,” IANS reads.

“The U.S. respects the sovereignty and territorial integrity of China,” Thaindian News (referring to Xinhua) quotes Obama as saying at a joint press conference with Chinese President Hu Jintao in China, Nov. 17.
