President Donald Trump announced that he has approved plans to build two new warships for the US Navy. He said they would be the largest and most powerful in history.

Trump emphasized that the new warships would be the fastest, the largest, and 100 times more powerful than any warship ever built.

Also, he noted that these would be among the deadliest surface warfare ships, and would be not only the largest warships in US history but also in the world.

According to the US president, the current plan is to build two warships, but their number could eventually increase to 10, and ultimately to 20–25.

He added that the new warships are planned to be equipped with the most advanced weapons systems. In particular, this includes artillery, missiles, hypersonic systems, electromagnetic railguns, and next-generation combat lasers.

Moreover, according to the US president, these warships will carry sea-launched nuclear cruise missiles that are currently under development, and they will be deployed fairly quickly.
