The Haik student union of the Heritage Party of Armenia issued a statement, which particularly reads:
“The Azerbaijani leaders have lately issued more and more frequent bellicose statement and warlike threats. Under the circumstances, disregarding serious challenges facing the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) and Armenia, as well as hoping that the statements are mere propaganda, is extremely dangerous.
The Haik Union calls on:
the National Assembly of Armenia to immediately recognize the NKR as an independent state thereby allowing the Armenian President to recognize the NKR Government’s authority in all the fields at any moment, particularly in the fields of defense and national security, for the purpose of signing Armenia-NKR agreements;
the RA Government to revise the 2010 budget to ensure the financing of the RA Ministry of Defense at least at this year’s level, as well as considerably increase the interstate credit to the NKR;
the RA and NKR Ministries of Defense to organize training courses and open educational establishments for all those of age to gain necessary knowledge and skills of civil defense and participate in military operations;
Armenia and NKR to elaborate and submit to the public an effective program of the army-society cooperation in hostilities;
the RA Ministry of Foreign Affairs to send and official note to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, Armenia’s strategic ally and partner within the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) to immediately stop any military supplies to Azerbaijan, as well as cooperation with that state, which is still being carried out under agreements signed in 2006 and 2008 or outside them;
the young people of Armenia, Artsakh and the Diaspora to unite so as not to allow any unilateral concessions on Artsakh and, if necessary, take up arms and defend our fathers’ victories;
Armenia’s political parties and youth organizations to meet and discuss the situation around Artsakh”
