Russian Emergency Situations Ministry refutes the information on 39 death toll in Nevsky Express derailment. According to Vesti, the accident killed 25 passengers and another 18 are still unaccounted.
The train was carrying 682 people, of which 661 passengers and 21 crew members. Presently, 224 people are working in the accident site.
Several versions of the accident are being considered. A terror attack is also suspected as some witnesses heard a loud bang before the crash, Vesti reports.
