YEREVAN.- New web portal for schoolchildren ashakert.am will be presented on Wednesday in Yerevan. The website has been created in the scopes of “E-Society” Project.
Government representatives and guests from various local and international organizations are invited to participate in the event, Armen Ashotyan – Minister of Science and Education, Arthur Petrosyan - Minister of Sport and Youth Affairs, Karen Andreasyan –Defender of Human Rights in Armenia, etc.
The main objectives of the project are to facilitate participation of children, adolescents and youth in decision-making on issues affecting them, as well as to establish rapport between Student Councils and decision-making governmental bodies and other institutions that could benefit from children’s views through the established web-resource on child rights and issues.
In the scopes of the Project Student Councils, teachers and students of thirty High and Secondary Schools of Yerevan, Gyumri and Vanadzor have been involved and registered on the website.
The website gives students an opportunity to share their ideas and upcoming events in their schools, organize mutual projects. The web portal also shares a mechanism of providing feedback to questions, concerns and problems raised by children and adolescents by decision-making entities, such as RA National Assembly, Ministry of Education and Science, Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs and many other local and international organizations.
The Project is implemented by “Youth For Achievements” educational NGO in cooperation with United Nations’ Children’s Fund.
