MenuGroup food delivery service is launching services in seven new cities of Belarus, Armenia and Georgia.
Starting from March 5, the service will be available in Grodno, Gomel, Vitebsk, Dilijan and Mtskheta, founder of the company Vahan Kerobyan said. Etchmiadzin and Gori will join them at end of March. The delivery service will also open in the Georgian village of Natakhtari which is a popular travel destination.
The company expects the highest demand in Belarus, which is due to the large population of these regional centers. To date, the delivery service operates in Minsk, Mogilev and Brest. The share of sales in the regions is 10-12 percent of the total sales of Menu.by. The launch in Grodno, Gomel and Vitebsk will increase it to 30-35 percent. More than 100 new employees were hired to expand business in Belarus.
In Armenia, food delivery service is already available in Yerevan, Gyumri, Vanadzor, Abovyan and Tsakhkadzor. The regions record lower sales volumes due to lower purchasing power. Together with Dilijan, 12-14 percent of the total sales of Menu.am is expected.
The situation in Georgia resembles that of Armenia. Now the delivery is available in Tbilisi, Rustavi, Batumi and Kutaisi. According to forecasts, new locations – Mtskheta, Gori and Natakhtari – will increase the share of the regions up to 10-12 percent, and it may rise to 16 percent thanks to Batumi.
“Experience shows that business can be highly profitable even in the cities with a population of 30-40 thousand people. Eating habits of people change very quickly, and we are sure that in the near future at least 10 percent of the food consumed per day will be delivered to every consumer from the nearest favorite restaurant. This will not only save the client’s money and time, but will also provide an opportunity to constantly include new delicious dishes in the diet,” Kerobyan said.
In October 2017 the company attracted $3 million for the regional developments from American PereaCapitalPartners fund, Hayastan 1 pooled investment fund and Russia’s SOLventures, one of the managers of which is the founder of DeliveryClub delivery service.
