In Shurnukh village of Syunik Province of Armenia, 11 horses crossed over into the closed territory under the control of Azerbaijan.

The horses belong to resident of Shurnukh Grigor Darbinyan, who told Armenian News-NEWS.am that the horses were used to the area since it used to be their pasture.

“When it was Armenia's territory, my horses would always graze there. No matter how much I tried to make them adapt to the new territory, they would constantly want to go there. I realized that they had crossed over when I saw the traces. The resident of a house located father from the village noticed that the horses had gone at night. The resident didn’t have my phone number to call me and let me know,” Darbinyan said, adding that he has been keeping horses in the village for twelve years already.

“I had 15 horses. The rest were tied. I haven’t seen any Turks since I was born. I lived in Shurnukh. Those territories belonged to us Armenians. I have been keeping horses for 15 years,” he said.

Darbinyan has also informed the border guards of the National Security Service. “The border guards told the Russians, and the Azerbaijanis told the Russians there were no horses,” Darbinyan noted.

The resident added that he hasn’t been able to search for the horses since it’s foggy in the area now and hopes the horses haven’t reached the territory that is under the adversary’s control.
