Traffic between Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) and Armenia is now carried out by the alternative motorway bypassing the Berdzor (Lachin) town of Artsakh.

The new Stepanakert-Goris route, which starts from the intersection of the Berdadzor sub-district of the Shushi region of Artsakh, is already in operation as of 8pm Tuesday, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Artsakh informs Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Russian peacekeepers are deployed along this road.

"The [Artsakh] (...) traffic police and (...) rescuers also carry out an enhanced service here, monitoring the safe entry and exit of the citizens," added the Artsakh interior ministry.
