Armenia does not plan to give up Russian wheat in favor of Ukrainian wheat, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan told reporters in parliament Wednesday.

He denied the information voiced in the form of a question by a reporter. “That is absurd,” Pashinyan remarked.

The premier denied also reports of US and UK involvement in the activities of Armenia’s foreign intelligence service. “Great Britain and the US have no connection to it. It was created by decisions of the government of Armenia. At the same time, our foreign intelligence service, like any foreign intelligence service, cooperates with foreign partners, including from Russia, the US, and Great Britain,” the Armenian PM said.

Nikol Pashinyan dismissed as well the information that he allegedly instructed to set up an interview with Time magazine’s well-known journalist Simon Shuster after the interview given by Armenia’s opposition “In Our Way” movement coordinator Narek Karapetyan to well-known American journalist Tucker Carlson. “There is no such instruction, just as there is no campaign against the [Armenian Apostolic] Church,” Pashinyan said.

He noted that the Armenian government receives many interview requests from international media, including American outlets. “For a country’s leader, it is not difficult to give an interview to international media,” the Armenian prime minister concluded.
