Severe colds and snowstorms killed over 80 Europeans. Bad weather caused impediments to railway, street and airport traffic in almost all European states. In some regions electricity supply is cut off, AFP reports.

2 million people in Cote-d’Azur were cut off from electricity, as the electric main broke down when people hooked up the heating units.
Near Paris a car slipped on the icy road and hit the rail tracks causing a derail of the suburban train. Dozens, mainly homeless died in Poland where the temperature reaches -20oC. Car crashes in Austria, Finland and Germany killed 13 people, BBC reports.

Hundreds of vehicles got stuck in Italy as a result of snowdrifts. Numerous lights were cancelled in French, German and British airports.

Furthermore, under meteorological forecasts, more snowfalls are expected in northern Europe within the next few days.
