A 4.9-magnitude earthquake hit nearby Turkey’s southeastern city of Gaziantep on Wednesday.

The tremor’s epicenter was located 32 kilometers from Gaziantep and its hypocenter was 21 kilometers beneath the surface, the US Geological Survey reports.    

Other details are not reported.

To note, major earthquakes had hit Turkey’s Van Province on October 23 and November 9, 2011, and claimed 672 lives and injured more than 6,000 people. Also, numerous aftershocks had followed these quakes. A total of 2,262 buildings were destroyed as a result.
