Party of Regions leader Viktor Yanukovych gained 36.23% after 70% vote count at the presidential elections in Ukraine.

According to Central Election Commission of Ukraine, Yulia Tymoshenko got 24.59% votes.

January 17, the first round of presidential elections took place in Ukraine. According to the recent data, the turnout exceeded 67%.

The runoff is scheduled for February 7, 2010 as none of the candidates polled 50 plus one percent of votes in the first round.
