YEREVAN. – A fire broke out Thursday on the sixth floor of Armenian capital city Yerevan’s Armenia Marriott Hotel, which has nine floors, and, as a result, four sustained injuries. Fortunately, however, all this was just a fire drill (PHOTOS).

Armenia Marriott’s Security Department Chief Karen Sukiasyan informed that, in line with the exercise, the Hotel security personnel noticed the fire and notified this to the Security Business Center, which immediately alerted the fire station. The firemen and rescuers arrived on the scene in three minutes.   

In his turn, Rescue Forces Department Acting Head, Rescue Service Colonel Pavel Gyozalyan stated that the simulated fire had resulted in injuries as well. Two, who had sustained burns, were brought down with an automatic ladder and handed to ambulance staff, and the other injured were brought down on stretchers.   

The fire and rescue drill was conducted with success.
