YEREVAN.- Russian Railways JSC will discuss possible investment in construction of Armenia-Iran railway this December, Russia’s Transport Minister Maksim Sokolov told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

“We are constantly interacting with the Russian Railways and coordinating the investment programs. Cooperation projects with foreign states will be considered in December when 2013 investment program of Russian Railways is confirmed,” Sokolov said on the margins of Armenia-Russia intergovernmental committee meeting held in Yerevan.

Experts say construction of Armenia-Iran railway may last five year. According to preliminary assessment, the project is estimated at $1.5-2 billion.
