YEREVAN.- Mayor of Armenia’s capital Taron Margaryan met with the delegation from Iranian city of Shiraz headed by his counterpart Alireza Pakfetrat. The delegation arrived in Armenia to attend festive events dedicated to the 2794th anniversary of Yerevan.

Taron Margaryan thanked Shiraz Mayor for accepting the invitation to visit Yerevan. Speaking about high level Armenia-Iran ties, Margaryan pointed out cooperation among the regions and cities.

“Yerevan municipality is cooperating with the colleagues from Tehran, Tabriz and Ispahan,” he said, expressing confidence there are good prospects for development.

Alireza Pakfetrat noted that Shiraz and Yerevan, having very old culture, can expand relations and carry out joint projects in various fields. He also invited his counterpart to visit Shiraz in order to deepen cooperation.

Yerevan Mayor offered to sign a memorandum between the cities.
