Ukrainian Central Election Commission counted 100% of votes by precinct election commissions. According to the preliminary data, Leader of Party of Regions Viktor Yanukovych gained 35.32% of the votes (8.686.000), whereas Prime-Minister Yulia Tymoshenko – 25.05% (6.159.000).

Yanukovych outran Tymoshenko for 10.27%.

Former Governor of National Bank of Ukraine Serhiy Tihipko polled 13.06%, former Speaker of Ukrainian Parliament Arseniy Yatsenyuk-6,96%, Ukrainian incumbent President Viktor Yushchenko-5,45%, Leader of Communist Party of Ukraine Petro Symonenko-3,55%, Leader of People’ s Party Volodymyr Lytvyn-2,35%, Leader of All-Ukrainian Union “Freedom” Party Oleh Tyahnybok-1,43%, Leader of All-Ukrainian Public Organization Civil Position Anatoliy Hrytsenko-1.2%, Inna Bogoskovska -0.41%, Oleksandr Moroz-0.38%, Yuriy Kostenko-0.22%, Mykhailo Brodsky-0.06%.

2.2% of the pollers (542.000 people) voted against all 18 candidates.

Official results of the first round of presidential elections will be released on January 27, 2010.
