Armenia’s Police will be impartial and honest; their activities will be in everyone’s interests. What is more, the police have chosen a path that, when they retire from their uniforms years later, the citizen would see that there was a person—and not an emptiness—inside that uniform, Police Chief Vladimir Gasparyan stated Saturday, during a conference being held in Tsaghkadzor city, addressing the journalists participating in the event.       

“I ask you to be honest in the interrelations. If there is dishonesty in our case [that is, of the Police], cast the first stone at me! But, before casting the stone, ask yourselves whether you have made a mistake. But, sadly, the maggot exists among our ranks and among your ranks. I know that we will never achieve justice yet we should achieve it to a minimum. Our [law enforcement] system will never be ideal, but it will be within its own logic,” Vladimir Gasparyan frankly told the journalists.          

In his turn, Ambassador Andrei Sorokin, who heads the OSCE Office in Yerevan, expressed a conviction that Armenia’s Police have commenced an open collaboration with the country’s media and society.
