YEREVAN. – Armenia’s Health Minister Derenik Dumanyan on Monday received a working group from the World Bank (WB) Team in Armenia.

Dumanyan noted that the programs, which were jointly outlined, are important and a priority for the Ministry. First and foremost, the Minister reflected on the “Control and Management of Non-Infectious Diseases” loan program. In addition, a public awareness program will be implemented in Armenia, and with respect to the risk factors of non-infectious diseases, the Ministry press service informs.    

Along the lines of the second WB loan program, and in connection with the modernization of Armenia’s hospital system, capital city Yerevan’s R. Yolyan Industrial Center is planned to be renewed. Also, new medical centers with modern-day medical equipment are envisioned to be built in Vanadzor city.   

Susanna Hayrapetyan, Head of the World Bank Team in Armenia, informed that the loan program, which the Team had submitted for the implementation of the program’s first component, has been approved. 

Subsequently, the parties discussed the implementation of the other components envisioned by this program.
